ABOUT MACLEOD ATELIER
01 / STUDIO
Considered interiors, shaped by character.
MacLeod Atelier is an independent interior design studio creating enduring spaces shaped by architecture, craftsmanship and the way people live.

OUR APPROACH
02 / ABOUT
Our approachis rootedin restraint.
We believe the most successful interiors are not defined by passing trends, but by a thoughtful balance of proportion, materiality, texture and light.
We look for the character within a property and allow it to guide the design, whether preserving the details of a period home, introducing contemporary elements to a historic setting, or creating calm within a more modern space.
Designed for longevity, not for the moment.
Every project begins with listening, understanding the architecture, the setting and, most importantly, the people who will inhabit it.
The result is an interior that feels considered rather than contrived; layered rather than decorated; personal rather than prescribed.
THE PERSON BEHIND THE ATELIER
03 / ABOUT

A Passion, LongBefore a Profession.
My interest in interiors began long before MacLeod Atelier was established. From an early age, I was drawing floor plans for my parents' home, imagining ambitious extensions, creating mood boards and developing a fascination with antiques, furniture and the character of older buildings.
My professional path initially took me in a different direction. After college, I began a career in banking in the City of London, studying leadership and management alongside my work and spending more than a decade in the industry.
Throughout those years, design remained a constant. Alongside my career, I continued renovating and improving my own homes, while helping family, friends and colleagues with interiors, decorating and renovation projects.
Eventually, a period of reflection brought a change in perspective. I realised that the work I had always found most rewarding was the work I had been pursuing outside my professional life.
MacLeod Atelier was founded on a simple belief: that life should be lived well, and the spaces we inhabit should contribute to that experience. What began as a lifelong interest in interiors has become a dedicated practice, shaped by a love of architecture, craftsmanship and homes with individuality.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
04 / ABOUT
Interiorswith timelessprinciples.
A quiet framework for every decision, from the architecture of a space to the smallest finishing detail.
- 01
Architecture
We respond to the existing architecture, respecting character, proportion and place.
- 02
Materiality
Natural materials, rich textures and honest finishes bring depth and authenticity.
- 03
Balance
A considered dialogue between old and new, traditional and contemporary.
- 04
Detail
The smallest details are often the most important. They are what make a space complete.

A SENSE OF PERMANENCE
05 / ABOUT
Gooddesign hasa sense ofpermanence.
MacLeod Atelier draws inspiration from the enduring qualities of European architecture and interiors, from English country houses and London townhouses to the relaxed character of Mediterranean homes.
We are interested in the dialogue between old and new: original architectural details alongside contemporary craftsmanship; time-worn materials alongside refined finishes; traditional forms interpreted with a modern eye.
Our interiors are designed to evolve naturally over time, becoming more personal and more beautiful with use.
OUR PROCESS
06 / ABOUT
A considered approach to every detail.
From initial concept to finished interior, each project is developed through careful research, material studies, furniture, colour, proportion and detail.
The way light falls across a room. The texture of natural stone. The proportion of a joinery detail. The relationship between an antique piece and something newly made.
It is attention to these quieter elements that gives an interior its character.

THE MACLEOD NAME
07 / ABOUT

A name with heritage. A design language of its own.
MacLeod Atelier takes its name from the MacLeod family heritage, a quiet thread of history running through an otherwise contemporary design practice.
The MA mark and visual identity draw on this heritage, but the interiors themselves are deliberately free from nostalgia. They are contemporary, individual and shaped by the architecture and people for whom they are created.
Respect for what has come before. Curiosity for what comes next.
